About the Recipe

A French Acadian recipe buckwheat bread from Bouchard Family Farm in Fort Kent,ME will have you ditching your cornbread recipes. This is now my go to bread to serve with my Chili. So, if you're looking for a bread to have with your Chili & don't like CornBread. I highly recommend you give this recipe a try.


  • 1/3 cup Butter or margarine (softened)

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 cups Ployes Mix


  1. Cream butter and sugar

  2. add eggs and milk; mix well

  3. Add Ploye mix and beat together

  4. Pour into greased 8x8 pan.

  5. Bake at 400ºF for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean

  6. Serve Warm and Enjoy!

Recipe Notes:

You can double the recipe and bake in 13x9 inch pan at 400º F for 20-25 minutes.
