About the Recipe

If you're looking for a sweet & spicy chili recipe, this one is for you. If you don't like sausage or beans, you can always substitute with anything you want. The base of the "sauce" is so delicious, it would be good with anything you enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of Beefy Onion Lipton Soup Mix

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey

  • 1 onion (chopped)

  • 1 & 1/2 cup of Beef Broth

  • 16oz can of Red Kidneys (rinse)

  • 1 can of Black Beans (rinse)

  • 1 can of Bushes Baked Beans ( 28oz)

  • 1 can of Sweet Corn

  • 8oz can of Tomato Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 4 tbsp ketchup

  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 4 tsp chili powder or desired amount

  • 1 tsp Crush Red Pepper or desired amount

  • Sm can of Mushrooms (optional)

  • 3 Hot sausage Links (optional)

  • 3 Sweet Sausage Links (optional)

Preparation

  1. Sauté chopped onions and mushrooms with butter in a pan frying pan. Remove sausage links from lining while the onions are cooking. Once they’re soft, add ground meat and sausage. Add Worcestershire Sauce and packet of Lipton soup mix. Simmer on medium until meat is fully cooked.

  2. While the meat is cooking, drain/rinse kidney, black beans & canned sweet corn in a colander.

  3. Place fully cooked meat and the drained/rinsed beans and corn in Crockpot.

  4. Add beef broth and tomato sauce; stir.

  5. Then add brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, cumin, chili powder, and crush red pepper; stir.
